KidsTek Supporters Enjoy Driving Great Old Cars & a 50’s Experience

This weekend a group of KidsTek supporters had the opportunity to drive restored and souped up cars from the 1920’s through the 1960’s, thanks to the generosity of Darren Martin, CEO of Charter Financial Resources and collector of the cars.

We all bought our “ticket” to the private experience at the KidsTek Golf Tournament After-Party held earlier this summer. Thanks to Darren’s generosity, KidsTek gets the full price as a donation and the buyers get a morning of fun learning about the cars, the opportunity to drive one or two of them, and the tour of Darren’s 50’s diner and collection of period items and memorabilia. The morning ends with ice cream Sundays at the diner and the chance to play old style pin ball games in the game room.

We had a beautiful fall morning for the outing. This is such a fun, and unique event. If you are interested, it’s likely that KidsTek will be offering the chance to buy these experiences again for 2016.

KidsTek provides Colorado’s underserved youth, grades K-12, with an invaluable technology education. It’s a really impactful educational experience for the kids, making a difference in their personal and scholastic achievement. As a volunteer, I have seen this first hand. Supporters like Darren Martin, and all the folks who went cruising on Saturday, allow KidsTek to reach more students each year.
